Experience: Rafael works with mergers and acquisitions, contracts related to international business, debt restructuring, as well as compliance activities, such as the review and implementation of procedures to adhere to Brazilian and the FCPA and UKBA international anticorruption standards. He has extensive experience in cross-border business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures, which has been obtained by his involvement in projects in several countries such as Spain, USA, UK, Colombia, Argentina, Malaysia and India. His career has been developed at a major Brazilian law firm and a world leader in risk consulting.
Academic background: LL.M in Corporate Law at the Institute of Education and Research (INSPER); Post-graduate in Business Administration at the Fundação Getúlio Vargas de São Paulo (FGV/SP), with an MBA from the ESADE Business School of Barcelona, Spain, and a University Extension in International Business Law Direito from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain.
Professional activities: Board member of private companies; Member of the Hospitals Code of Conduct Studies Group, the National Association of Private Hospitals (ANAHP); Legal mentor of startup companies in their initial phase of incorporation, together with business accelerators and entrepreneurship schools; Lecturer in short courses and symposiums related to contractual topics, corporate and entrepreneurship.
Publications: Author of the book “Convertible Notes in Equity Crowdfunding”, published by Editora Quartier Latin in partnership with PwC. Co-author of the Code of Business Conduct / Compliance for Private Hospitals guide, published by ANAHP.
